We are proud to announce that Rochelle Rae was featured in Vetta Magazine!
“VETTA had the honor of interviewing three of Austin’s brightest business women for our final round of tastemakers, these interesting individuals have made a name for themselves in and out of Austin as focused, creative and extremely hardworking women. Here are some of the sharp insights these lovely ladies had to share with our readers.”
You can read this issue online here. Rochelle’s story starts on page 96.
The wedding of Amanda and Lewis was a wonderful celebration amidst the beautiful background of the Four Seasons hotel in downtown Austin. For the wedding design, we wanted to create an atmosphere of chic elegance, so we felt only the softest colors would do. We chose a palette of ivory and pale pink, with accents of bronze and gold. We wanted the dancing part of the evening to have a completely different feel, so we chose purple with gold and bronze accents. We used lush floral such as dahlias, astilbe, hydrangea and oodles of roses. For the outdoor ceremony, we designed a breathtaking arch covered in ivory floral that Amanda and Lewis stood under to exchange vows. Ivory rose petals blanketed the aisle, and Lake Austin served as the backdrop to the heart-warming vows. It was magical!
Following the ceremony, guests headed to cocktail hour on the terrace, which was transformed with a gorgeous tent with ivory draped ceilings and glittering chandeliers. Guests signed a magnum bottle of wine as the guestbook, and enjoyed hand-rolled cigars.
Dinner was on the lawn, also under a fabulous tent. The all-white floral popped against the sparkling bronze sequin runners and soft amber lighting. Two long tables created an intimate dinner party feeling, especially since there were under 100 guests. The guests enjoyed a truly special moment when they experienced sabrage, or opening a bottle of champagne with a saber. It started dinner off with a bang! Wild mushroom risotto, beef tenderloin, bone-in chicken, or citrus-brushed sea bass delighted guests as heart-felt toasts were given.
After dinner, the party got started. Guests meandered to the ballroom for cake and dancing, which was enveloped in draping and soft purple lighting to create an elegant club-like atmosphere. Ottomans were placed around the room for guests to take a break from dancing to the European house music being spun by the DJ (a favorite genre from the bride and groom’s travels). But that wasn’t all—in the foyer, guests were greeted by a decked-out dessert station. Glass compotes and dishes were filled to the brim with personalized white and purple candy. The only way to end an evening like this was sparklers. Guests cheered the newlyweds into the night!
We love you Amanda & Lewis – and your families as well. We had so much fun planning and designing your gorgeous affair! And we wish you many happy days together in the years to come. XO!

Let’s just take a minute and talk about the stunning vineyard wedding we planned for Sofie + Anthony! Their wedding was literally in the middle of the Salt Lick Vineyard. It was GORGEOUS. I really think that it was one of the most beautiful settings I have had for a wedding yet. We used Marquee for the tent, lighting and rentals. The photos are by the super awesome Jennifer Nichols. Stems did stunning florals for the wedding. I loved Sofie’s style because she knew her own, unique style. Her family is from Mexico so we went for it; her whole design was interior Mexico vibe with ferns, bougainvillea, Mexican pots and table numbers. We were worried about the wind for her escort cards so she got these unique wooden envelope openers and we wrote the guest’s name and table numbers on them instead. Sofie handmade a big flower wall to be the backdrop of her dance floor, which brings me to the best thing ever… the dance party. Guys, really I have never seen a dance party like this. Sofie got these AMAZING dance floor props with foam hats. I am absolutely obsessed and want them at every wedding and every party I throw… mainly just want to wear them daily. Like I said, OBSESSED. Best Prop Ever. Congrats to Sofie and Anthony on a gorgeous wedding and crazy dance party!
XOXO,
Becky

Newlyweds Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden are being credited with creating a trend in weekday weddings after choosing a Monday for their nuptials instead of the more typical weekend wedding, according to People Magazine.
4 reasons to pick a weekday wedding date
Money, money, money! The biggest reason for choosing an off-weekend wedding is that it can save some serious cash. “Venues never have trouble booking up the weekend at peak times, but they often need to book those days surrounding the weekend as well, so they offer great price reductions,” Abby Larson, founder and editor of Style Me Pretty says. “But it doesn’t stop with the venue – many other vendors from cake designers to florists and bands often offer much lower rates than peak days and times.”
You want a unique and personal date. Many couples opt for a weekday affair because they have a date that is special to them like the day they met or a holiday they love like New Year’s Eve or want to utilize a fun date like 5/5/15.
3. You want to keep it low key. Over-the-top wedding plans aren’t for everyone. If you’re looking to have a simple celebration without a ton of pressure to create the party of the year, a Monday-Thursday wedding might be right for you.
4. You want to keep the party going. “You can force your guests’ vacation hand a bit, extending the celebration for one extra day,” explains Larson. “For those willing to travel, they can also find less expensive options from hotels to flights and rental cars.”
This 1950s-inspired wedding at Thurman’s Mansion back in September was so much fun! Everything from the tomato red and robin’s egg blue color palette, scotch and cigar bar, yard games, whimsical decor, a beautiful dog, and the groom deciding to wear a kilt made for a great evening! It goes to show that your wedding should definitely reflect your personality! Congratulations to the bride and groom, Meagan & Mac!
